The negative was it was a false diagnosis. Ended up at ER next day.
Probably not their fault. I probably did have a UTI, but I also had kidney stones.
Horrible experience! The first thing I was told by the receptionist was "you will have at least 11/2 hour wait. We have another facility in Lenoir, so you probably should go there. How many people DISCOURAGE you from using their business? Then, the nurse that took me back said," you probably won't get an antibiotic, so don't count on it." Strike 3-- and the absolute worst-- was the doctor (H.C.) Rude doesn't even start to describe him. I told him that i had a sore throat and sinus symptoms as well, and he immediately told me that he wasn't giving me an antibiotic because people like me were why we had a culture that was resistant to antibiotics. After examination, and he realized I had 2 heart conditions and a hip replacement, he decided that the last thing I needed was any kind of an infection in either of those locations. You think? If he had read my record, he would have known that from the start!! He ended up giving me a strong antibiotic due to those complicated factors. Those conditions were the only reason I came to an urgent care on Sunday instead of waiting to see my family doctor on Monday. I was only following the instructions that multiple doctors had directed me to follow. I will never, never, return to this facility and would NOT recommend it to other people. Every person I encountered was extremely NEGATIVE!!!!! By the way, I could hear him through the wall, and he told a parent to take her sick little girl to the Y and get in the sauna to quiet her cough. He said he wasn't giving her an antibiotic either and that she didn't look sick anyway. He was totally unprofessional!
I arrived 15 minutes before they closed and was seen immediately. Diagnosed and had scripts and out the door within 30 minutes. That's the positive.
They were very nice & courteous and I'd go back.
I made a skip the line appointment online before the Hickory, NC location opened. I had my paperwork filled out before arriving and was seen a few minutes after my scheduled appointment time- which is great considering how long it takes at my family doctors office. The staff was very friendly. The doctor took time to ask several questions and sent in my prescriptions to the pharmacy of my choice immediately. The medication was ready as soon as I arrived at the pharmacy. While being sick is not fun- FastMed Urgent Care in Hickory made it as painless as possible
They did call the next day to check in on me. That was great. I was at ER by that point.
Friendly and fast service. Easy appointments or walk in. I was a walk in. Went in the morning. No waiting.
Probably should have been advised that this might have been a possibility, and to be prepared to go to hospital.
I thought they lived up to their name. We have never used this location before and the staff was super friendly and we were in and out very quickly. I would definitely use again.
